A theme that keeps coming to mind is: a return to nature. Or perhaps, Nature with a capital. It often seems to me that in the rush for the new, the exciting and the entertaining , we can easily lose touch with ourselves.

In this painting I’ve tried to capture that sense of the world beyond the woods dissolving into mist, fading away. She has abandoned the outside world, even just for a while, and returns to commune with Nature.

A return to her Self.
